ScoreZero

Privacy Policy

ScoreZero ("we," "us," or "our") is a free AI-powered credit rebuilding tool that helps people recover from bankruptcy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

By using ScoreZero, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.

Information We Collect

Information you provide directly. When you use ScoreZero to generate a credit rebuilding roadmap, we collect the information you enter:

  • Email address
  • Bankruptcy chapter (Chapter 7 or Chapter 13)
  • Bankruptcy discharge date
  • Current credit score (optional)

Information collected automatically. When you visit our site, we automatically collect certain browsing data through Vercel Analytics:

  • Page views and navigation paths
  • Referring URLs
  • Browser type, device type, and screen size
  • Country-level geographic data
  • Affiliate link clicks and conversions

We do not collect Social Security numbers, full credit reports, bank account details, or any other sensitive financial data beyond what is listed above.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Generate your roadmap. Your bankruptcy chapter, discharge date, and credit score are sent to the Anthropic Claude API to create a personalized credit rebuilding plan.
  • Send email reminders. If you opt in, we use your email address to send periodic reminders about upcoming milestones in your roadmap.
  • Improve the product. We use aggregated, anonymized analytics data to understand how people use ScoreZero and to improve the experience.
  • Track affiliate performance. We track which product recommendations are clicked so we can measure the effectiveness of our affiliate partnerships.

Third-Party Services

ScoreZero relies on the following third-party services to operate. Each has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data:

  • Anthropic (Claude API) — Processes your bankruptcy details to generate your roadmap. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train its models. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
  • Vercel Analytics — Collects anonymized, aggregated usage data about page views and site performance. Vercel Analytics is privacy-focused and does not track individual users across sites.
  • Neon PostgreSQL — Stores your account data (email, bankruptcy info, roadmap) in a secure, encrypted database.
  • Awin — Handles affiliate tracking when you click on product recommendations. Awin may set cookies to attribute referrals. See Awin's Privacy Policy.

Cookies

ScoreZero uses a minimal number of cookies:

  • Vercel Analytics cookies — Used to collect anonymized site usage data. These are first-party, non-identifying cookies.
  • Affiliate tracking cookies — Set by Awin when you click on a product recommendation. These cookies help attribute referrals so we can earn revenue to keep ScoreZero free.

We do not use cookies for advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect affiliate link functionality.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Specifically:

  • Account and roadmap data — Retained for up to 3 years after your last interaction, or until you request deletion.
  • Analytics data — Aggregated analytics data is retained indefinitely but cannot be tied to individual users.
  • Email reminders — If you unsubscribe, your email is removed from our mailing list within 7 days. Your email may still be stored as part of your account record unless you request full deletion.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Deletion — Request that we delete your personal data. We will remove your data within 30 days of a verified request.
  • Export — Request a portable copy of your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Correction — Request that we correct any inaccurate data we hold about you.
  • Opt out — Unsubscribe from email reminders at any time using the link in any email we send.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@scorezero.com. We will respond within 30 days.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

  • Right to know — You can request that we disclose what personal information we have collected, the sources, the business purpose, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
  • Right to delete — You can request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to non-discrimination — We will not deny you services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of service for exercising your CCPA rights.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest. Our database is hosted on Neon PostgreSQL with encryption enabled. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy
